Sometimes Things Just Don’t Go as Planned. Life Can – and Does – Throw You a Curve Ball from Time to Time.
All too often, when people get hit with the unexpected, they throw up their hands in frustration and quit the task at hand. I see this a great deal with fitness goals. Whether it is kids, work, or ‘my pinky toe feels weird today’, there always seems to be a reason not to meet fitness goals.
Years ago, I learned that there are basically 3 Steps to Achieving Any Goal:
- Build a Plan
- Drive for Results
- Be Strategically Agile
That last one – Be Strategically Agile – is REALLY important!
It reminds me of the Xs and Os in football. You see a play drawn up showing what the running back is supposed to do … then there’s reality, right? Defenders are coming at him, so he has to juke and jive to get around them. If he just stopped and gave up when the original play didn’t pan out, he would never reach the end zone. And probably get flattened in the process!
The same is true for us with everyday life situations.
We need to improvise, adapt, and overcome the obstacles that are thrown at us each and every day.
As coaches at II XCL, one of our main jobs is to help you build a plan, drive for results, and be strategically agile so you can accomplish your health & fitness goals. Right now, we have our 4th Annual Jean Challenge – one of our biggest challenges of the year at II XCL. Feel your best again and drop 2 jeans sizes in just 8 weeks!
