The Madison Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the launch of the AAPI Foodie Scavenger Hunt, a vibrant celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, beginning this afternoon across Madison, Alabama. In partnership with local food and culture influencer Katiya McKinney (@thekulturekat), this interactive initiative invites residents to explore and support AAPI-owned businesses throughout the city.
The scavenger hunt encourages participants to visit at least five local AAPI-owned restaurants, cafes, and markets, take a selfie with a purchase, and share it on social media by tagging @madisonalchamber and @thekulturekat. Those who complete the hunt can stop by the Madison Chamber of Commerce to claim a special prize.
“This is more than just a fun community event—it’s an opportunity to honor and amplify the contributions of our AAPI entrepreneurs who help make Madison such a diverse and delicious place to live,” said Michelle Epling, President of the Madison Chamber. “We’re thrilled to partner with Katiya to spotlight the flavors and faces behind these amazing small businesses.”

The scavenger hunt starts on May 19th and features nearly 40 local businesses, including Aloha Ramen House, Miso Happy, Pho Galaxy, Sakura Sushi & Steak House, and many more. The Chamber’s website and social media platforms provide a full list of participating locations.
