Madison City Schools – The Shining Star of the City!

The Madison City School System is recognized for scholastic excellence at the local, state, and national level. The system represents 11 schools - 12 with the opening of Journey Middle in fall 2023 - and 1,270 employees. Enrollment for the 20-22-23 school year is just over 12,500 students. Test scores on national standardized tests are above the national average  at all schools. It is truly a shining star for the City. The Living Library

The Madison branch of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is the only known Living Library in Alabama. Its green space comprises a life-sized scrabble board, reading nooks, children’s amphitheater, vegetable garden and butterfly habitat.
