Kids to Love Breaks Ground on New Facility in Madison

MADISON, Ala. — The Kids to Love Foundation and Matt Curtis Real Estate joined together Thursday to celebrate the Curtis family’s support of the Foundation’s new facility under construction.

Matt and Courtney Curtis joined members of Kids to Love for a ceremonial groundbreaking of the Curtis Cares Center at the center’s future home, located at 140 Castle Drive in Madison. The Curtis Cares Center is made possible by a $250,000 donation from Matt and Courtney Curtis.

The Curtis Cares Center will be an expansive space that will allow Kids to Love’s Emergency Assistance, More Than a Backpack, and Christmas for the Kids programs to continue to meet a growing demand for foster care assistance. The space also will serve as expanded classroom space when needed for KTECH, Kids to Love’s school for workforce training.

The Curtis Cares Center fills a need for space that Kids to Love has had for a long time, due to the Foundation’s expansion of services for children in foster care. It will provide space to house more items that children need, and it will provide space to work during busy times of the year, when the Center is crammed with bicycles, toys, clothing, and school supply donations.

“This will fill a huge need we have had for space in recent years, thanks to our expanding staff, programs and the number of children we serve,” said Kids to Love Founder and CEO Lee Marshall. “Matt and Courtney Curtis believe in our mission and in helping children, and their support will help us continue our work and even expand our ability to serve children in foster care.”

Matt and Courtney Curtis are strong supporters of Kids to Love. Recently, Matt Curtis Real Estate made a generous donation to pay the salaries of two case managers in Kids to Love’s Child Placing Agency, a state-licensed foster care agency.

“We believe in and support Lee Marshall and the mission of Kids to Love, and it is our honor and blessing to partner in God’s work through this Spirit filled organization,” Matt Curtis said. “Psalm 68:5 says our God is a Father to the fatherless. To whom much is given, much is expected (Luke 12:48), which is why it is our job to defend (and care for) the Fatherless (Psalm 82:3).”

The Curtis Cares Center and Mark C. Smith Wellness Center will be housed in a 17,000 square foot building about to begin construction at the Kids to Love Center, located at 140 Castle Drive in Madison.
